Modelling M-Earth Atmospheres

In the short 10-week period as a research associate under Dr. Avi Mandell at the NASA Goddard Center for Astrobiology, I created a pipeline for Earth-like planets around M-stars that properly trains on our forward modelled atmospheric grid and uses observational data to retrieve expected planetary parameters using machine learning assisted retrievals. I successfully tested the pipeline on K2-18b by reproducing the results described in Benneke et al. 2018. The pipeline is ready for future observations and characterization of rocky planets with the upcoming JWST mission.  We have already used HST's data for L98-59c to submit a proposal to STScI (Space Telescope Science Institute) for additional observation time and a publication is in preparation.
